Jason Mansfield (Head Coach)
- Jason will be starting his 16th year of
coaching club volleyball, where his teams
have finished 5th place or better 11 times
at the Junior Olympics. Jason has coached
his team to Bronze Medal finishes in the 18
Open Division the past four consecutive
seasons. His 2003 team won a
Silver Medal in the 18 Open Division and in
1997 his team won a Gold Medal in 18 Club
Division. Jason has coached 23 Junior
Olympic All Tournament selections. He is in
his 10th season as an Assistant Coach at
Stanford University, where he has helped
coach the team to 5 Final Fours and a
National Championship (2004). Jason has
coached 25 AVCA All-Americans and 3 AVCA
National Players-of-the-Year.
Shelby Edwards (Assistant Coach)
- Shelby Edwards returns to Vision where she
previously coached with Vision's 18's and 17's
teams. She is a former player who competed locally
at Los Gatos High School and won a State
Championship under Vision's 16 Gold Head Coach Joe
Ripp. Shelby played collegiately at the University of
Oregon. She is the Athletic Director at Los Gatos
High School and is also a math teacher.
Matt Hoffman (Assistant Coach)
- Matt coached Vision's 14 Blue team in 2011, and
assisted last season's 18 Gold team which earned a
Bronze Medal at the Junior Nationals. He is currently a Volunteer Assistant Coach for
Stanford University. Matt has coached several levels
of junior volleyball, and was an assistant for
Vision's 12 Gold in 2010. He formerly was the Head
Coach at Homestead High School. His 2007 and 2008
teams won the CCS title, with his 2008 team winning
the Northern California Championship, and was the
CIF State Runner-up. He was the boys volleyball
coach at Homestead High School from 2005-2009,
winning 4 consecutive league titles. |
| 18 Blue: |
Jeff Kim
(Head Coach)
- Jeff coaches the 18 Blue after a trip to the
Junior Nationals with the 2012 team. It will be his
third season with Vision and he an
extensive resume of coaching experience. In his
first season with Vision
he coached the 16 White team to the JO's and a 9th
place finish in the region, this after starting the
season seeded at 100. He is the Head Varsity Coach
at Notre Dame Belmont. Prior to Vision he was a Head
Coach for highly regarded Encinitas Wave Volleyball
Club in Southern California. During his time in
Southern California, he also coached at The Bishop's
School in La Jolla as the Junior Varsity Head Coach
and Varsity Assistant.
Christine Dion (Assistant Coach)
- Christine will coach with Jeff for the third
consecutive season, after helping the 2011 18 Blue
team, and the 16 White team
to JO bids. She competed as a
player in 2004 and 2005 for Vision's 18 Blue team
and played at the collegiate level at Willamette
University. She then began her coaching career at
Ferris High School in Washington. As a junior player, before competing
with Vision, she earned medals at the 14's and 15's
level at City Beach. She played all four seasons in
High School at Presentation, San Jose.
Fletcher
Anderson (Assistant Coach)
- Fletcher returns to Vision after coaching with the
18 Blue team in 2011. He is a former player at Long
Beach State where he was First Team All-Conference
in 2005. As a junior player at Los Gatos High
School, he was First Team All-League three
consecutive seasons from 2002-2004. In 2004, he was
named the San Jose Mercury News Player-of-the-Year,
and was named as a Volleyball Magazine "Fab 50"
recruit. He competed on the USA Junior National
Training Team in 2005. |

Will Yuen (Head Coach)
- Will returns to Vision after leading the 2011 team
to a 5th place finish at the Junior Nationals. His 2010 and
2009
Vision 17 Gold teams won Bronze Medals. He will be in his
fifth
consecutive season coaching the 17 Gold team. Prior
to coaching at the 17's level, he coached the Vision 16 Gold team,
and has coached several age levels. He has been involved locally in junior volleyball for
fourteen seasons. Will is currently in his seventh season
as an Assistant Coach at Santa Clara
University. He began his
career as a volunteer and is now in his fifth
season as a full-time assistant. He helped lead
Santa Clara to the NCAA Final Four in 2005.
Lauren
Jaeckel (Assistant
Coach)
- Lauren had a successful playing career at
Saint Marys College as an outside hitter. She
started her coaching career at Saint Marys and the
University of Florida coaching summer camps. She
coached two years at Norcal Volleyball Club and has
worked several high school clinics as well as
conducting private lessons.
Eric
Rowell (Assistant
Coach)
- Eric is in his second year with Vision,
and will be coaching at the collegiate level next
season. He was formerly the JV coach at San Lorenzo,
and has coached the 17's and 18's level of club
volleyball with Bay-to-Bay Boys. As a player he was
a 4-year starter and 1st Team All-American at UCSC. During
his career they made three consecutive Final Four
appearances. He is the brother of Vision's 14 Blue Coach Katie Rowell. |

Tait Rafat (Head Coach)
- Tait is in his sixth season as the Head Coach for
Vision's 17 Blue team. His 2010 and 2009 teams earned bids to
the Junior Olympics. Tait is also in his
sixth season as the Head Coach at San Jose City
College. Prior to San Jose City, Tait served as an
Assistant at Nevada-Reno, and coached 16's for
Sierra Nevada Volleyball Club. That season, his team moved up
fifty
spots from their original ranking during the league
season. Tait grew up in Alaska before going to
school at UNLV. He has both an undergraduate degree
and masters, is CAP I certified by USA Volleyball,
and is a certified volleyball conditioning
specialist. Tait now resides in the Bay Area with
his wife of ten years and their two children.
Stephanie Loller (Assistant
Coach)
- Stephanie returns to Vision for her ninth
season and coached with Tait in 2011. In 2010, she helped lead the Vision 15 Blue
team to a JO bid. She
has coached several different age groups with Vision. Her playing career started
at Los Gatos High School and continued at the
University of Pennsylvania. She helped lead her UPenn teams to two Ivy League titles. She is a
dentist, practicing locally in San Jose. |

Joe
Ripp (Co-Head Coach)
- Joe returns to the 16's age level for the fourth
consecutive season after leading the 2010 and 2009
16 Gold team's to JO bids. In 2009, the team earned a fifth place finish
at the JO's in Miami. Previously, he coached
the 18 Blue team for two seasons. His 2007 team won a Bronze Medal in the 18 Club
Division of the Junior Nationals. In 2005, Joe guided the Vision 17 Gold team to the
silver medal in the 17 Open Division of the
Junior Nationals. Joe
retired from Los Gatos High School after
a 14-year coaching career. His high school teams
won three CCS championships, three Nor-Cal
championships and one California State Championship.
He is the founder of Vision Volleyball Club.
Ron
Whitmill (Co-Head Coach)
- Ron coached both the 16 Gold and 15 Gold teams in
2012. Previously he coached the 18 Blue
team for three seasons. His 2010 and 2009 teams earned
bids to the JO's, with the 2009 earning an Open bid,
giving Vision two teams in the division, and the first time in the 28-team
format that a club has sent two teams to 18 Open. He has a lengthy coaching and
playing resume. He spent seven years with City
Beach as a Head Coach, and was the Head
Coach for the San Jose State Men's program. As a
player, Ron participated in the 1989 JO's and has
been part of a team which finished first in the NCVA
AA seven times.
Monica
Marcuson
(Assistant Coach)
- Monica is entering her ninth season with Vision
Volleyball Club. All eight of her previous teams
have qualified for the Junior Nationals. She returns
to the 16's level this season after coaching the 15
Gold team in 2011, earning a bid to the Junior
Nationals in Atlanta. In 2007, she
coached the Vision 16 Gold team to a fifth place
finish at the Junior Nationals. Monica is a former Head Coach at Notre
Dame Belmont, and is now an Assistant Athletic
Director at Archbishop Mitty . Prior to Notre
Dame, Monica established the program at Canada
Community College. Monica played collegiate volleyball
at Notre Dame de Namur (formerly Notre Dame Belmont) for four years. |

Jeanine
Haldi (Head Coach)
- Jeanine returns to Vision after coaching the 16
Blue team in 2011, earning a trip to the Junior
Nationals. She is in her sixth season as an
Assistant Coach with San Jose State. She coached
club for eight seasons, and also at the high school
and community college level. As a junior player, she
played her senior season for Vision's 18 Gold Head
Coach, Jason Mansfield and was an All-American at
the Junior Nationals. She played for SJSU from
1999-2002, and finished her career ranking sixth
all-time in digs. She was a three-time
Scholar-Athlete, and graduated in 2003 with a degree
in Kinesiology. She earned her Masters Degree in
Sport Management from USF in 2006.
Kylie Miraldi (Assistant Coach)
- Kylie is a senior middle blocker and team captain
at San Jose State University, where she is a 3-Time
Scholar-Athlete. Kylie had a successful junior
career for Force Volleyball Club, and played High
School at Nevada Union. She was a two-year letter
winner and helped the 2007 team to a second place
finish at the CIF State Championships. |
| 15 Gold: |
Brooke
Chan (Co-Head Coach)
- Brooke is in her ninth season with Vision
Volleyball Club. The last two seasons she led Vision's
13 Gold and 15
Blue teams to JO bids. In 2009 and 2008, she led the 13 Gold teams
to a
Bronze Medal and fifth place finish respectively at the Junior Olympics. The two previous seasons her 12 Gold teams earned a spot at the Junior Nationals. She has
both junior college and high school coaching
experience. In 2007, she took over as Head Coach at
West Valley Junior College after working as an
assistant for one season. As a player,
she competed for Vision throughout her junior
career, and was a defensive specialist at San Jose
State.
Danny Chan (Co-Head Coach)
- Danny returns to coach with Brooke after helping
lead the 13 Gold team to the Junior Nationals
in 2011. He coached Vision's 16 Blue in 2010 and was
one of three Vision 16's teams to make the Junior
Olympics. In 2009, he helped lead the 13 Gold team
to a Bronze medal finish at the Junior Olympics in
Miami. In his previous seasons, he coached with the
13 Gold and the 12 Gold teams. He has collegiate
experience as the former Head Coach at West Valley
Junior College. He has also coached at Homestead
High School, Evergreen Valley High School, and Club
Yahoo, where in 2006 he helped Yahoo's 17's team
earn a bid to the Junior Olympics. |
| 15 Blue: |
Lexie Bothman (Head Coach)
- Lexie returns to Vision for a third consecutive,
and sixth season, after
taking a break to earn her Master's degree as a
Graduate Assistant at Hawaii Pacific University. She
is currently an Assistant Coach for Presentation
High School. As a player, Lexie competed for Vision
Volleyball Club and for Archbishop Mitty. She was a
member of Archbishop Mitty's 2001 State Championship
team. She than played at the collegiate level for
Santa Clara University, where she was part of their
2005 team that reached the NCAA Final Four.
Katie Rowell (Assistant
Coach)
- Katie returns Vision after coaching in the 12's
age level for five seasons. Her 2010 and 2009 teams
earned bids to the Junior Nationals. As a
junior player, Katie played for Los Gatos High
School and for Vision. She played on Vision 17 Gold
which qualified for the Junior Nationals in the 17
Open Division in 2003. She played at the collegiate
level at Foothill Community College. Katie graduated
this past spring from San Jose State University. |

Bret Almazan-Cezar (Head Coach)
- Bret is in his twelfth season as Head Varsity Coach for Archbishop Mitty High School.
In 2010 he was named the AVCA National
Coach-of-the-Year, and his 2010 team completed an
undefeated season. His Monarch teams have won
five state championships
and made ten appearances in the NorCal Championship match. Bret is
also in his twelfth season with Vision. At the Junior Nationals in
2007, his team earned a Bronze medal. In 2006, his
Vision 14 Gold team finished fifth and in 2002, his
14 Gold team won the Silver medal. Prior to joining
Vision, in 2000, Bret led Delta Valley to a Gold
Medal Championship in the 18 Open Junior National
Championships in Louisville, Kentucky.
Chi Chui (Assistant Coach)
- Chi is in his fifteenth season as an assistant coach at Archbishop Mitty,
and has coached
club volleyball for over 20 seasons. He has coached teams that have achieved the highest
levels in winning state championships and Junior National medals.
In 2007, he helped lead his 14 Gold team to a Bronze
medal at the Junior Olympics. In 2003 he help Archbishop Mitty
High School win the Division II state championship.
In 2002, he helped guide the Vision 14 Gold to a
Silver Medal at the Junior National Championships. |

Emily Burke (Head Coach)
- Emily returns for her fifth season with Vision
after serving as an
Assistant with the 17 Gold team team for four
seasons. She helped lead the
2011 17 Gold team to a fifth place, and the 2010 and 2009 teams to Bronze Medals at the Junior
Nationals. She completed her second season in 2011 as a setter at
Santa Clara University. She was the setter for the
Vision 18 Gold team in 2007 and helped lead that
team to a fifth place finish at the Junior
Nationals. Her club career included six seasons with
Vision, and her high school career included two trips
to the CA State Championship with Archbishop Mitty.
Brittany Julian (Assistant Coach)
- Brittany is in her fourth season at
Archbishop Mitty, coaching with the Junior Varsity
program for both the girls and boys programs. She also
coached in Northern California with Mountain View
Volleyball Club and Point Break Volleyball Club. She
spent a season coaching in Southern California,
after she completed a playing career. As a player,
she was a Fab 50 Freshman-of-the-Year, and 4-time
All-League player with Harvard-Westlake. She played
a season collegiately at San Jose State University. |

Matt

Nicole Payne (Assistant Coach)
- Nicole is a former Vision player, who also
competed at Archbishop Mitty High School, playing
for 14 Gold Head Coach Bret Almazan-Cezar. She played at the
collegiate level at UCSC and was a starter during
her tenure. She has coached both boys and girls
volleyball. She has coached club volleyball for Main
Beach, and High School at Archbishop Mitty, where
she coached for four seasons. She is the
boys coach for Mountain View Volleyball Club's 16-1
team. |

Ekavir Casino (Head Coach)
- Ekavir returns for his fourth season as the 13
Blue Head Coach. In all three previous seasons with
Vision, his teams have finished in top 10 in the
NCVA 13s division and brought the 2009 and 2010
teams to Jr. Nationals. Players from 2008 and 2009
Vision teams are now playing on varsity teams at
their respective high schools as sophomores and
freshmen. Ekavir has been the Head Coach for 10
years at Mountain View Academy High School, and he
was the recipient of the National "Double Goal
Coach" Award by the Positive Coaching Alliance in
2004.Asia Casino (Assistant Coach)
- Asia is currently in her third season as a setter at San Jose State
University. She is a former Vision player, having
competed with the Bronze-winning 18 Gold team in
2007, coached by current 18 Gold coach Jason
Mansfield. She competed as a junior
player at Saint Francis High School in Mountain View
and was a 3-year letter winner, and earned honors as
a member of the First Team All-West Catholic
Athletic League. Asia started her junior coaching
career with Davis Volleyball Club. |

Crystal
Matich (Head Coach)
- Crystal returns to Vision where she previously
coached both 17's (with current 17 Gold Head Coach
Will Yuen) and 13's teams. She has had an
outstanding playing career including a trip to the
NCAA Final Four as the starting setter for Santa
Clara University. She was named the WCC
Player-of-the-Year in 2007. After completing her
collegiate playing career, Crystal trained with the
USA National Team and went on to play professionally
for four seasons. She competed in Switzerland,
Puerto Rico, the Canary Islands, and Azerbaijan.
Erin Downey (Assistant Coach)
- Erin is a former Vision player who played
collegiately at Loyola Marymount University. She had
a very successful playing career locally at
Archbishop Mitty where she helped her team win three
CIF State Championships. In 2003, she helped her
Vision 18 Gold team win a Silver Medal when coached
by current 18 Gold Head Coach Jason Mansfield. She
played both outside hitter and middle blocker during
her career. |

Noel Kwalick (Co-Head Coach)
- Noel is a former Vision player and currently
competes for Foothill Community College for Head
Coach Katy Ripp (wife of Vision's Club Director, Joe
Ripp). In addition to playing club, she competed for
at Santa Clara High School. She has coached with
Vision's Futures program and helped coach boys
volleyball at Santa Clara High School.
Angie
Larsen (Co-Head Coach)
- Angie is a former player at Menlo College and
Foothill Community College. She played five years of
junior volleyball with Utah Valley Volleyball Club
and Club Utah. She competed in high school at
Timpanogos in Orem, Utah. Last season she coached
with Core Volleyball Club in the East Bay, coaching
with their 16-White team. |
